3D Pens
by Exploring Senses
Since introducing 3D pen activities in 2014, Exploring Senses artists have been experimenting with this technology in workshops and for creating art pieces. This activity is highly successful with both children and adults, as using 3D pens offers a therapeutic experience. Similar to a hot glue gun, the PLA filament (made from bio-degradable corn starch, not plastic!) is fed through the pen, melted, and then used to draw designs. The PLA quickly cools and hardens, allowing you to create beautiful artworks.
Our 3D pen workshops have been tried and tested in youth centres, schools, libraries, festivals, galleries and museums. We also specialise in activities for neuro-diverse adults and children, customising our workshops to meet your needs. If you're interested, please get in touch.
Participants quickly learn to create fun and unique designs, while Exploring Senses artists demonstrate the potential by crafting larger art pieces. Additionally, we can digitally alter the colors of your 3D pen creations using Photoshop and print your designs on bags, T-shirts, and mugs.
